This is awesome! I really had fun playing it, and I really love the art and the sound adds a lot.
I did mess up the tutorial on my first playthrough and it made it very hard to progress. I messed up for a few reasons:
I chose to unlock a slot above the middle.
And because of that I didn't choose to buy the cream cheese and wrap ingredients. (Because I wouldn't get the multipliers of the left and right slot and because I did not register that the next order had to be a wrap and cream cheese)
I then got too many cards and never got to unlock the draw card mechanic
This is totally me not seeing some of the objectives. But it felt like I could play in another way to the tutorial which is not really the case for unlocking all the mechanics. Not sure if limiting the choices for the first slot unlock and the first set of cards to buy might solve this.
But the game is awesome! I understood how all the cards worked which was awesome! I didn't really make as much weird combonations as I would hope to
Glad you liked it and sorry to hear that it wasn't the best experience on the first play. I think allowing players to unlock the top slot is an oversight on our side. It comes down to the problem of knowing our game too well and not really designing with that in mind. We've had a few players experience that so it's certainly a design flaw on our side.
We're currently exploring the idea of using the same systems and assets and thinking of a fairly new game to make. We recognize that the biggest flaw of the game, is the game itself! So we're hoping that round 2 will result in a more coherent, more independent style of play which is still intuitive.
Thanks for letting us know and being a supporter of what we make :)
hey friends! i don't know if this is an issue on my end or a bug, but i'm at the point where the game is unplayable, nearly. whenever i go into a new round, the entire hand that pops up is entirely action cards (recycling, bar fridge, etc.) and the only options that come up are anything but actual food items. when i view my deck in the shop between rounds, i somehow have rows of mayo, garnishes, etc. i think my deck is probably somewhere around 100+ cards and 75% of it is garnishes and actions.
it appears so. i've replayed it two more times, and inevitably cards just kind of end up in my deck. like right now, i have 4 bar fridge cards. i've never bought one, outside of the initial first one in the beginning.
This is an absolute gem! Just had an absolute blast playing through the whole game.
Without any lose states, this feels like a breath of fresh air within the deck-builder genre. A very enjoyable, chill experience with loads of charm.
Excited to see how you will be taking the concept further in future updates. Feels like there could be some space for even more interesting combos, and cards that focus on snack placements.
Have you considered some kind of kitchen menace that might mess with the players plans? On over zealous rat that wants to be a chef and rearranges your creations? IDK if something like that would be an improvement - in it's current zen form the game does feel very satisfying, but I do wonder about how you could bring in some more challenge, or unpredictability.
Mega high fives to all involved in this lovely little game! It made my day!

I really like the design but please have a bit more of a tutorial, i was very confused for a bit haha
Yeah our onboarding sucks, it's something we're trying to get better at with our future games. Thanks for the feedback.
Is there a save feature? ;3
Unfortunately not at this stage. If we make it into a full game, it'll be something we definitely implement. But this is just a prototype for now :)
Great design and cool concept! Once I got the hang of it it was very enjoyable 10/10
Thanks @Froodler! Glad you enjoyed it :D

Oh bleak! That does sound like a bug. We'll investigate how this happened and try fix it on the next update. Does it happen again if you start over?

You're 100% right. We've found the bug and will upload a new version asap!
Aaah! Awesome. Thanks so much
